Embedded subtitles in MP4 files are not recognized

  • Hi,

    I've noticed that embedded subtitles in MP4 files are not recognized. So when I open a MP4 files (I am opening a video on a SMB server) that contains also subtitles and I go in the subtitles tab I can see the option "Show subtitles" activated and "Add subtitles", but no way to select the embedded subs.

    Thank you.

    Ciao.

    Can you add complete MediaInfo? Please post from the mp4 files.

    Which iOS device + iOS version?

    @Kill-KRT
    We could not found the problem.
    Please upload a sample file to our ftp server (ftp://test.newin.co.kr) or send a link to a sample file on your favorite cloud drive.

    Thank you.

  • Ok, but I do not have write access to that FTP server, I will send you a PM with the link.

    Thanks.

  • Any update on this? I embed all of my MP4's with subtitles in them so I don't have to worry about other files. I was hoping nPlayer would handle this but it seems to look for a subtitle file. I used to use MX Player on the Android which did display them, but have moved fully over to iOS so am looking for something that handles them on this platform. I can send sample files if needed or even rip shorter sections of movies for test.

    I have an iPad Mini 2 and an iPhone 6 running iOS 9.2
