Connection to WD TV

  • I have a WD TV video streamer / player, which shows up on nPlayer as one of the devices on my network (with the letters SMB/CIFS underneath). However, when I select that option on nPlayer, I get a message on nPlayer saying Connection refused. Can anyone advise how I can enable nPlayer to connect to WD TV? Both WD TV and nPlayer connect with no problems to my Mac, over the network. Thanks.

activate SMB server from your WD-TV device (network settings -> network share server settings)

thanks very much for the advice. When I go to the network share server settings, it gives two options - Mac Share and Windows Share. Both are already set to On. Do you know if there is anything else that I can check / try?

is a hard drive connected? no? Please connect.

    maybe disable 1 option.

  • Thanks for those other suggestions.

Yes, a hard drive with movie files is connected. I have disabled Windows share - still no luck unfortunately.

    probably only desktop system support

    see the manual

  • Sorry, do you mean I should refer to the manual for the WDTV? Or my mac? (Or nPlayer?)

    thanks, George
